Maze Generator is a funny maze creator web site with only several pages. Only 7 pages was indexed by Google, and monthly visits reach about 140K (checked at 2025/11/09).

With it’s top keywords, something interesting show up.

For keywords, like ‘maze generator’, ‘maze’ is ok for this site. Because they appears in the page, belongs to on-page-SEO content.
But for keywords like: ‘maze maker’, ‘labyrinth generator’, it seems a little strange. Because they were not show up in or included in on-page-SEO. I checked the page source code, and can not find any of them.
So the question is why google rank those keywords for this site? Yes, those keywords belong the same topic, will google do some NLP and assign the same topic keywords to this site? Some magic happened here, and it become very complicated here.
I do not think so. There must be some places to figure out why. Do Backlink Analytics and do Anchor text filtering, now secret become unfolded.

Those keywords that uncover in site on-page-SEO, but show up in backlink anchor text.

Now everything become clearly. Good backlinks and anchor texts are very useful too. They can increase your keywords expose and rank your site as well as on-page keywords. Such effect of backlinks usage will beyond lots of people ‘ s imagination. Usually we use backlinks to help crawl web pages quickly and increase domain rank. All or most of the keywords will be addressed in on-page-SEO part. From now on, you can address some keywords with backlink anchor text.
This is the same as human society, you as a person belong to different community , group, organization and also a unique family. You will play as different role, others name you differently, those names all point to you. The whole thing will strong your social identity, make you feel who you are.
The site as digital social entity will play the same role alike human.
